Greetings Pat : Have enjoyed listening to your recordings since 1954 and seeing the Bands perform live - first at the Barking Odeon in 1957 and several times until Sevenoaks 5 years ago.
Many thanks for the enjoyment your playing has given to so many of us. Have a great celebration! |

Happy Birthday Mr.H. I've loved your playing and your stage performances since forever it seems! Well, first time I saw you (and the band) was in 1950 somewhen at the Alexandra Gardens in Weymouth (eat your heart out Mr. Snelling) with Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee. Later, same town, different theatre, caught you singing "Come Outside" with Graham Burbidge and Eddie Smith in the bar of the Pavillion, My Swedish girlfriend of the time got your autograph . . . and dumped me the same evening. I have questions to ask about that!

Pat,
Congratulations and Best Wishes on your 80th Birthday. We were sad to hear you leave THE band but understand your reasons and hope that you are thoroughly enjoying your 'retirement', doing all the things you didn't have time for whilst playing so regularly. Have a great time on your birthday and many more of them. Best Wishes, Brian and Margaret Rendle |

Happy Birthday Pat
You have always been my favourite, and I,ve watched and listened in England and on the continent. I play trumpet and still copy some of your phrases (the ones I can manage). Over the years I have sent you Xmas cards and remain a fan of your lovely music and your super-professional stage presence. Kind Regards Tim Eyles |

Dear Pat,
please allow me, to call you by your first name. I know you and your music since 53 years and I never stopped listening. You don't know me, but I have been talking to you at several concerts, and I have a lot of signatures on numerous record sleeves. I confirm, that you are one of the friendliest persons I ever met. Because of this, your ability to make people happy, your influence on music for more than half a century and your common lifework I think they should make you and Chris a SIR. All the best for the future years, Heiner Aumüller |

Dear Pat,
I congratulate you on your birthday and wish you many happy returns. As a keen follower of the Chris Barber Band I have visited numerous (80) concerts during the past 35 years and I have always enjoyed your playing very much, especially when you and Chris joined our band (Savoy Jazzmen) during our 35th anniversary concert in Eindhoven in 1997. Yours, Frans van de Camp |
